| Defending Big D brought up some very good points on the NHL's proposal to the NHLPA. And to be honest, I think the owners are at more of a blame than the players this time around. They have been cheating the salary cap and making a mockery of the system that helped save hockey, because they want to win and they want big named free agents.
But this entire proposal is fucking crazy.. well, I guess a 48 game season means the Leafs might make the playoffs! |

| Yup, the owners are responsible for a lot of this. |

| I've been browsing around /r/hockey (the only thing that is good on reddit, I'm not saying that because it's hockey but because memes are banable offence), and I found a post for ideas for things that should be done if the league is locked out, there are a lot of really good suggestions in there, one I like an updated ice layout, not everything about it is good, but the small blue area around the bench for too many men calls is a good idea.
The post in questions is this: http://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/wm1gd/during_the_last_lockout_a_lot_of_crazy_and_new/ |

| I didn't know Reddit even had a sports thread, I thought itvwas for complete and total anti-social. I think hockey's probably the best it will get. And, if the NHL has another lockout, I think the same thing will happen that happened with the NBA last year, it'll be like 1/3 third the season gone, and, things'll start back up again. And, Ovi has always been a finesse player, because he takes shots on his knees every three seconds. I haven't seen one deke from Ovi I've had even 1/10 the reaction of Patrick Roy deking past like 3 people to get past centre ice. Also, Ovi gets passed the puck every two seconds. With how much he gets the puck, if he were a "great" player, he would score 60+ points every season, so far, he hasn't. |

| Yup. Because New York needed another first line Right Winger with Gaborik and all, good pick up! I say they drop to second-fourth in the east. |

| I could see Gaborik - Nash - Callahan together on the first line. But the problem is Nash isn't worth being on a first line anymore. Seriously, his production has dropped (point by point yes but still it's slipping). It can't be blamed on the Blue Jackets being such a terrible team, because if that was the case Nash would be the only one scoring and his point totals would be as high as ever.
Nash's biggest issue at hand now, is being a playoff performer. He is gonna buckle hard under the East playoffs, especially if at any point the Flyers and Rangers play together. |

| Agreed. Nash isn't worth what the Rangers gave up for him |

| Loosing both Dubinksy and Anisimov are going to hurt the Rangers' special teams, no doubt about it. Dubinsky was strong with blocking shots and being a key role player this season, same with Anisimov. Erixon has the potential of being a skilled two way defender (which will do WONDERS for Columbus).
Putting Anisimov with Nick Folingo will also spark a HUGE offence from Columbus next season, which I look forward to seeing. (No pun intended)
Columbus' biggest challange now will be goal tending, to me Shawn Hunwick is a very Sean Burke-esque story. Hopefully Bobrovsky can help them into the playoffs on a consistent basis
