They only have game day coverage of the NHL and after that it's over until the next game. NHL on ESPN aired news segments when games weren't playing and tried to covered the sport as much as possible

This is why the NHL Network should be available globally without purchase, like have it part of a regular cable package like ESPN, NBCSports, etc. , and yeah I know "Keeping it in a packaged deal makes more sense", although it doesn't make sense financially because only one person I know has it, most people just watch hockey through NBCSports.

One thing I like that NHL does is with NHL Game Centre you have the ability to switch between games and get consistent coverage around the NHL. This is why I'm glad things like the Logitech Revue are gaining traction, because that could greatly help sports stations by giving the ability for users to use an interface to switch between games on game day.
